about_siteWhat Our Many Names is: a family tree written together, with the memories that go with each name. Says what a visitor can do without an account, what an account gives for free, and where the public pages are.

add_first_personStart an empty tree with its first person. Once somebody is on the canvas, use add_relative instead.

clear_focusLeave lineage focus and show the whole tree again.

describe_relationshipHow two people are related: the kinship term each way (grandmother, cousin, sensei…), the number of family hops, and the chain of people between them. "from" defaults to the signed-in member's own card.

filter_rosterType into the member list's search box, narrowing the names shown beside the canvas. Empty clears it.

find_peopleSearch people in this tree by name, maiden name or byname; a misspelt name still finds its person. Returns compact rows (id, name, dates) in pages of up to 50; use the id in other tools. Omit the query to list everyone.

focus_lineageShow only one ancestor and their descendants with partners, hiding everyone else. clear_focus undoes it.

get_link_optionsThe relations that could be recorded between two existing people, ranked as the app ranks them for a person, with the evidence for each. Ask before connect_people when unsure which relation fits.

get_personOne person in full: names, dates, status, and their immediate family — parents with pedigree, partners with the union, children, siblings and social bonds — each with an id.

get_pricingWhat is free and what is paid: the free allowance an account starts with, each upgrade with its price in credits and money, and the credit packs.

get_tree_overviewThe family tree on screen: its name, whose it is (owners and member count), your role, counts of people, living and deceased, unions and generations, and the eldest person recorded. Start here.

list_gapsWhat is incomplete or contradictory: children born before a parent, living people over 110, adults with no parents recorded, missing birth or death years. Worst first, paged.

open_public_treeOpen a published tree by its slug or name. Its own tools (find_people, describe_relationship, show_person…) appear once it is on screen.

search_public_treesPublished family trees anyone can read, by name — each with its address slug and how many people it holds. Omit the query to list them all.

show_personPan the canvas to a person and highlight their card, so the human sees who you mean. Optionally open their profile.

switch_viewSwitch between the canvas ("tree") and the chronological dates view ("dates").
